Doctor's Recommendation

1. Ideal testing

If you are 30-65 years old:

• Pap smear using liquid-based cytology (LBC)

• HPV Test

This ideal co-testing can cost ₹3000 and more

For all other ages, check out this table.

2. Minimum testing

If cost is a factor for you, then the minimum testing you must get done:

• Pap smear using conventional method

This minimum testing should cost ₹1000 or less

Cost of Pap Smear

In Bengaluru:

• Using conventional testing: Rs 500-1000

The cells are collected on a microscope slide.

• Using liquid-based cytology (LBC): Rs 1000-3000

The cells are collected in a specialised fluid. This are more accurate and the size of sample needed is much lesser than the conventional method. Hence, the preferred testing for Pap Smear.
