What is Covered in the Treatment Of PMDD

The primary goal of PMDD treatment is to alleviate symptoms and minimize their detrimental impact on your daily activities.

PMDD treatment should be individualized according to the patient’s symptom profile and should include non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions.

Pharmacological treatments include:

  1. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)

  2. Serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs)

  3. Quetiapine

  4. Oral contraceptives

Non-pharmacological treatments include:

  1. Supplements

  2. Psychological therapy

How to Navigate?

We have divided the treatment section into four sub-sections that cover different treatment options available for PMDD. It includes:

  1. Medicines (Pharmacological): This section covers all the medicines that have proven to be useful in relieving PMDD symptoms. We chronicle their mechanism, efficacy, and potential side effects.

  2. Supplements (Non-Pharmacological): This section covers various supplements available to treat PMDD, including their mechanism, efficacy, and side effects.

  3. Psychological Therapy: This section covers the importance of psychological therapy in overcoming PMDD symptoms.
